BERG XL BFR go-kart: one kart for children and adults
The XL is BERG's large frame and the only one we stock that BERG rates for adults. Its age guide runs from 5 years to adult and its rider height from 125 to 190 cm, and BERG says the frame is made for intensive use.
Ours is the XL B.Pure Blue with the BFR hub: brake, freewheel and reverse through the pedals. The seat adjusts far enough for a grown-up.

Which XL to choose
We stock one XL, the B.Pure Blue BFR. The shop also lists accessories for the XL frame, such as a rubber bumper and a comfort seat.
Who the XL suits
A family kart
When a parent, a teenager and a younger child will all ride it, the XL is the only frame of ours whose guide covers everyone.
Ages 10 and up
From ten, the Rally has fewer years left in it. The XL takes a child through the teens and beyond.
Not for a small five-year-old
BERG's age guide starts at five, but the height range starts at 125 cm. Most five-year-olds are not that tall yet, so check before buying.
The frames either side
BERG also builds an XXL frame, for riders up to 210 cm, and offers the XL and XXL with three gears or electric drive. We stock the standard BFR XL only. Below the XL is the Rally, for ages 4 to 12.

Delivery, returns and Christmas
Delivered free. In-stock karts arrive within 48 hours; others typically take 7 to 10 days. The kart comes boxed for home assembly with BERG's manual. You have 14 days to return it.

Can an adult ride a BERG XL go-kart?+
Yes. BERG rates the XL from 5 years to adult, with a rider height of 125 to 190 cm, and says the adjustable seat makes it suitable even for adults.
What does BFR mean on the XL?+
Brake, Freewheel and Reverse. You pedal forwards to go, backwards to brake, keep the pedals still to freewheel, and pedal backwards again once stopped to reverse.
Is the XL too big for a five-year-old?+
Often, yes. BERG's age guide starts at five, but its rider height starts at 125 cm. A five-year-old shorter than that is better on a Buddy or a Rally.
Do you sell the XXL or an electric XL?+
No. We stock the standard XL B.Pure Blue BFR. BERG's XXL frame and its geared and electric versions are not in our range.
How is the XL delivered?+
Free, boxed for home assembly with BERG's manual. In stock it is delivered within 48 hours.
Is the XL the right size?
Tell us the rider's age and height and who else will use the kart. We will say whether this frame fits or another would be better.
